Study abroad opportunities in Durham

On Thursday evening, Newsfeed Extra welcomed members of staff from the University International Office to find out more information on what opportunities there are to study abroad and how you apply. Emma Pearce and Jonathan Murphy from the International Office spoke about the variety of course exchanges the university offers, from Erasmus to overseas exchange. Their top tips were to do your research well and to have an open mind about where you want to go. You may decide to go somewhere you had never dreamed of and end up having the best year of university. Lourdes Watts also came to talk about opportunities exclusive to Business School students.

Several students who have completed study years abroad brought vivid descriptions of their adventures from places such as China and Sweden. If you feel like this is an opportunity not to be wasted, then head over to the Durham University Study Abroad Fair on 21st October.

To find out more about placements in the Business School, contact:

Academic Coordinators

- Durham – Dr Laura Marsiliani (laura.marsiliani@durham.ac.uk)

- Queen’s – Ms Jonquil Hinson (jonquil.hinson@durham.ac.uk)

Placement Administrator – Vicky Anderson (victoria.anderson@durham.ac.uk)

If you’re still undecided, many students have documented their experiences abroad in the Study Abroad Blogs. The best way to hear about the years abroad is from students directly, and the International Office can put you in touch with students who are currently around the world.
